Andy Goodrich’s life is turned upside down when his wife is admitted to a rehabilitation facility, leaving him alone with their young children. Goodrich relies on Grace, his daughter from his first marriage, as he finally becomes the father she never had. Writer-director Hallie Meyers-Shyer wrote the title role specifically for Michael Keaton. «I wrote it 100 percent with him in mind,» she said, «to the point where if he had said no, I would have buried her and myself in the backyard.» A box of «Cinnamon Toast Crunch» rotates 180° during the breakfast scene. Writer-director Hallie Meyers-Shyer has given us a film that is funny, occasionally touching, and will leave you smiling as the credits roll. It’s a perfect movie about life. Michael Keaton is spectacular as Andy Goodrich. Mila Kunis is amazing as Grace. Keaton and Kunis share a lovely camaraderie in all their scenes together. Vivien Lyra Blair and Jacob Kopera are fantastic as Billie and Mose. The supporting cast is phenomenal. Goodrich is a must-see for anyone who loves comedy dramas and fans of Michael Keaton and Mila Kunis. See it on the big screen and give independent films a chance to shine at the box office for a change.
