A thrilling journey through the life of Pharrell Williams, told through the lens of LEGO animation. Animal Logic, who animated the four previous Lego theatrical films, did not re-animate the film as it would have been seen as a rip-off of Warner Bros., even though Lego and Warner Bros. share the rights to the original series. Instead, the animation was done at Pure Imagination Studios in Los Angeles and Zebu Animation Studios in India. Both Pure Imagination and Zebu had previously replicated the style of the original film series through theme park attractions, PSAs, and the 1989 Simpsons episode «Brick Like Me (2014)». The first studio logos for Universal Pictures, Focus Features, Tremolo Productions, and the Lego Group were made from Lego bricks. A Pharrell Williams biopic made with Lego bricks, cool and original. But you have to ask who the movie was made about? Because it’s too boring for a kids movie and most adults wouldn’t watch it because they’d think it was kiddie. I personally saw it last night and found it pretty boring. The fact that this biopic is made with Lego bricks was the only thing that saved the movie, otherwise no one would care about it except for huge Pharrell Williams fans. Also, I don’t know how Focus Features survived all year, they’re the only movie company that has had a consistently empty theater every time I’ve been there, even at Piece by Piece there were only 5 people in total. The other two Focus Features movies I’ve seen this year the theater was completely empty and I was the only person in the audio tower. It’s very rare that I’m completely alone in a movie theater.
